Elizabeth Burke Beaty
Explore, examine, acquire, curate and manage contemporary art.
Coach artists to grow professionally.
I work with individuals, galleries, businesses, museums and corporations.
Whether you are a first time buyer or a seasoned collector, I will help you access the art world in a way that is non-intimidating, educational and professional.
If you are a gallery and would like to have a show guest curated by me, I will passionately pursue all aspects of creating a show with integrity and value.
If you are an artist and would like help developing professionally I will coach you on a realistic and practical way to help you achieve your goals.Because of this dilemma, Back in the 90's I designed a successful course titled, "The Business of Art". This class was originally only taught at various prestigious Graduate Art Schools like The School of Visual Arts and New York University but now (because of the internet) I can teach it to you as well!
Here are some examples of what we tackle together:

Here are some examples of what we tackle together:
- How do I find a gallery? How do galleries find artists?
- How do I know if I'm ready to start showing my work professionally?
- What should I expect from a studio visit and how do I prepare?
- What is a consignment? What's the difference between an "artist to gallery" and "gallery to gallery" consignment?
- What's the difference between a consignment and and contract? And what's the difference between a contract and an exhibition agreement?
- How do I price my artwork? Do I discount my artwork?
- What the difference between a short-term and long-term contract?
- What's the difference between and exhibition agreement and a representation agreement?
- How am I supposed to market my myself online?
